Constructive feedback

Get constructive criticism about your writing! This is not a pat-on-the-back service. You will receive honest feedback to help you craft a story that will keep readers reading (if you actually follow the advice and suggestions, of course).

We look at:

• Does your story have a strong hook?
• Does your story/writing draw the reader forward? (Or does is lose the reader somewhere?)
• Does your story have a satisfying/strong end?
• Are your characters believable?
• Is at least one character relatable?
• Does your main character develop?
• Are there obvious internal inconsistencies/plot holes?
• Does story-specific jargon hamper the story?
• Is the story believable?
• What intensity of language editing will be necessary?

Turnaround time:

Once contact has been established, you will be informed of the expected turnaround time depending on our availability.

Rates:

• First twenty pages only: USD 120.00 (25% DISCOUNT)
• 1-199 pages: USD 8.00 per page*
• 200+ pages: USD 6.50 per page*
• Up to four pages of story outline: USD 20.00 per page *

* Double spacing, font size 11+. If a document with different formatting is submitted, the document will be set to these specifications and only the number of pages paid for will be critiqued.

 

Language editing

Do you want your manuscript to look more professional? Nothing will turn off publishers and readers more than a hoard of spelling errors and gross grammatical errors. Have your manuscript edited by a professional language practitioner and fellow writer.

We look at:

• Spelling*
• Grammar
• Punctuation

*Please, specify US or UK spelling.

Before we start editing, your manuscript will be evaluated to determine the intensity of language editing required.

Turnaround time:

Once contact has been established, you will be informed of the expected turnaround time depending on our availability.

Rates:

• 1-99 pages: From USD 1.00  to USD 1.50  per page*
• 100+ pages: From USD 0.80 to USD 1.20  per page*

All documents must be in MS Word format, double spaced and set to font size 11+. If a document with different formatting is submitted, the document will be set to these specifications and only the number of pages paid for will be edited.

 

Maps

Do you wish you had a hand-inked map of your fantasy world? Send us your current sketch and/or a detailed description of the features you’d like and we will draw it for you (digital manipulation optional)

All maps will be drawn on A4 watercolour paper using black or brown ink as specified.
